*Due to unforeseen circumstances, the re-opening of the funicular has been postponed to Thursday 24 August. We apologise for the inconvenience.
It’s time for the Flying Dutchman Funicular’s makeover, and unfortunately, for this hardworker to look shiny and new again, we have to keep it off the tracks for a while.
The funicular will be out of operation from the 7 to 20 August 2017.
Cape Point now has its own dedicated „Red Bus“.
The Cape Point Explorer is a full day’s excursion with an English-speaking guide aboard a luxury air-conditioned coach, featuring a drive through picturesque Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and a visit to Boulders Beach with its famous colony of African penguins. The tour then continues to Cape Point, with an optional hike to the Cape of Good Hope headland.
Two Oceans Restaurant at Cape Point will, with immediate effect, no longer be offering West Coast rock lobster (crayfish) on their menu.
The funicular turns 20 in less than a month and to celebrate, we’re doing giveaways, discounts, freebies, and loads of deals. Between 26 November and 16 December early birds at Cape Point will be rewarded.
Cape Point has a free audio tour that provides an all-encompassing sensory experience, while you’re exploring the beauty of this iconic site.
