Our #BeTheFirst campaign kicked off last week and now it’s your turn to BE THE FIRST!
Cape Point recently won the Visitor Experience: Scenic Beauty award for 2018 at the Western Cape leg of the Lilizela Tourism Awards.
George Allen Senior said, “Work hard, stay positive, and get up early. It’s the best part of the day.” Who is George Allen Senior? We don’t know, but we absolutely agree with him, and that’s why we’re encouraging you to get to Cape Point early.
It’s tourism month and we’re celebrating at Cape Point in the best way!
Our annual winter special returns yet again to heat things up! Head to Cape Point between the 1st of June 2018 and the 31st of July 2018 where two kids (aged 6 -16) ride for free on the Flying Dutchman Funicular, when an adult return ticket is bought for R70.
The funicular, is the only one of its type in Africa, and takes its name from the local legend of the Flying Dutchman ghost ship. Hop in for a ride which will take you all the way to the top station, whilst enjoying the amazing Cape Point views.
Once you’ve built up an appetite, head on down to the Two Oceans Restaurant. Expect absolutely divine meals where kids eat free with any main meal ordered. Simply advise your waiter you’d like to claim the kids winter special and you’ll receive a free kiddies meal with each main meal ordered (sit-down only) – it’s that simple!

The Funicular Trams
A tough trip to the top
In 1877, the lighthouse keeper at the Cape Point lighthouse began to keep a visitor’s book. The objective was partly for his own records and amusement, and partly to reward those who had made the arduous trip.
The funicular turns 20 in less than a month and to celebrate, we’re doing giveaways, discounts, freebies, and loads of deals. Between 26 November and 16 December early birds at Cape Point will be rewarded.
