On Wednesday, 30 October 2019, a King Penguin waddled its way onto Buffels Bay Beach in Cape Point. As you can imagine, the King Penguin has gained quite a bit of interest from visitors and birders. The good news is that SANCCOB officials were on scene and safely assessed the bird which currently has no medical concerns.
“We urge the public to keep their distance from the penguin as his activity will be monitored over the next few days. SANParks rangers will be on the scene for crowd control purposes, to ensure the protection and well being of the bird,” says SANParks.
