A short message from South African National Parks regarding the recent implementation of Level 4.
We, South African National Parks, know that you all miss your national parks, but unfortunately, national parks remain closed even though the Lockdown Regulations have downgraded to Level 4.
Please note that in terms of Regulation 24 of the Disaster Management Act, all national park’s facilities and activities (eg. hiking, dog walking, cycling, etc) are not to be accessed by the public during this stage of the lockdown.
The Lockdown Regulation Level 4 allows for walking, running or cycling between the morning hours of 6am to 9am. These activities are only permitted to take place within a 5km radius of your place of residence, provided that this is not done in organised groups
Kindly note that even though a national park may fall within the 5km radius of your home, access to the national parks is not permitted during Lockdown Regulation Level 4. Willis Walk and the boardwalk leading to the Kommetjie lighthouse falls under parks property and may not be used for exercise activities.
We miss you too, so for now stay safe and healthy.
